In March of 2025, I faced one of the most challenging moments of my life when I was diagnosed with metastatic papillary thyroid carcinoma. The news hit me hard, especially when a specialist informed me that I might never sing again—a devastating thought for someone whose passion has always been music. Nevertheless, on my way home from the hospital in Indianapolis, I felt a surge of hope as God inspired me with the lyrics to “Gaining the Victory,” which would become my anthem. This song, my first single, was released in August 2025 and served as a testament to my journey. Determined not to let the grim prognosis deter my spirit, I dove into prayer and research, seeking every possible path to reclaim my health. In April of 2025, I traveled from Indiana to Tampa, FL, to consult with the renowned specialists at the Clayman Thyroid Center, where I underwent a total thyroidectomy and had 17 lymph nodes meticulously removed. To my relief, three of those lymph nodes were found to be cancerous, emphasizing how crucial it was to act quickly. I felt immense gratitude for being guided to Dr. Rashmi Roy to perform my surgery; her expertise made all the difference. After a few months of healing, I discussed my treatment options with my endocrinologist in Indiana, who suggested that radiation therapy could be highly beneficial. Consequently, in August of 2025, I underwent iodine radiation therapy at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. I felt an overwhelming sense of relief and gratitude when I learned that I was cancer-free. Now, with renewed vigor, I have returned to singing, embracing my passion like never before. I can hardly wait to see what 2026 holds for my music ministry, with new melodies and messages to share with the world.
